- 24 Cheez-It crackers
- 1/2 cup peanut butter creamy or crunchy
- 1 cup chocolate chips dark, milk, or semi-sweet
- 1 tsp vegetable oil optional, for smoother chocolate
- Sea salt or sprinkles optional, for garnish
Lay out 12 Cheez-It crackers on a clean surface or tray. Spread a small amount of peanut butter (about 1 teaspoon) evenly on each cracker.
Place another Cheez-It cracker on top of each peanut butter layer, pressing gently to form sandwiches.
Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl or using a double boiler. If using a microwave, heat in 20-second intervals, stirring in between to prevent burning. Add vegetable oil for a smoother consistency if desired.
Dip each Cheez-It sandwich into the melted chocolate using a fork or dipping tool, ensuring it’s fully coated. Gently tap off excess chocolate and place the dipped sandwiches on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle sea salt or decorative sprinkles on top if desired. Allow the snacks to cool and harden at room temperature or place them in the refrigerator for quicker setting.
Additional Tips:
- Use a cooling rack for excess chocolate to drip off neatly.
- For a twist, try using almond or cashew butter instead of peanut butter.
- Store the finished snacks in an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerate for up to a week.
